I shared a quick story about Kali mur and clogged ears in May 2022 but let’s dive in a little deeper.

Kali mur is found in blood cells, muscle, nerve tissues and brain cells.  In fact, Schuessler (the Father of Biochemic Cell Salts) insisted that without the presence of Kali mur, no new brain cells can be made. It is a building block of the fibrous tissues of the body.  When deficient, it gives rise to thick whitish discharges, swollen glands, and connective tissue issues.

This is a clean up remedy which means it’s seldom used in the initial stages of inflammation like we use Ferrum phos.  Instead, it will enhance the initial remedy and complete the healing. Think of Kali mur as a vitality reviver after illness.

Kali mur is indicated in conditions characterized by white or whitish-gray.  If you see this in the skin, tongue or other discharges, reach for the Kali mur.

Another interesting component of Kali mur is pain.  This is a great remedy for those with chronic, wandering, mysterious pains.  The pain can move from place to place in the body with no real pattern.  All pains associated with Kali mur will be worse from motion and may be rheumatic in nature.  It’s a great general pain remedy when the onset of pain can be traced back to a specific injury or illness that the patient has never fully recovered from.

Finally, because Kali mur has a “stuckness” to it (ie: never well since illness or injury, slow to heal, blocked and swollen), it’s a great remedy to think of for ill-effects of injections.  If the person becomes listless or weak and just can’t seem to restore vitality after an injection, Kali mur is one to consider.

Think Kali mur for:

  • Second stage of illness when the discharges begin
  • Dandruff characterized by white flakes
  • Recovery from illness (combined with Calc phos), especially if the recovery seems to be stalled
  • Never well since illness
  • Colds that linger or drag on and on.
  • Cracking joints
  • Cracking noise upon blowing nose
  • Blocked ears
  • Swollen glands, tonsils or throat
  • Insatiable hunger despite illness or inability to digest
  • Stuffy, sinus congestion
  • Bronchial asthma and 2nd stage of Bronchitis
  • Ill-effects after injection

Kalil mur can be dosed in either 3x, 6x, 12x or even 30c.  It is a short-acting remedy so may be repeated often in both acute or chronic conditions.
